My Project

In today's world children are more prone to being on the computer, tablets, and watching TV rather than participating in movement activities. We have seen this impact our students abilities to actively engage in movement. We want to provide students with the opportunity to learn about and practice multiple sports and activities. We have seen a significant decrease in enrollment in our sports programs and we understand the importance of sports for a multitude of reasons.

Athletics and Activities teaches us to work with others, teamwork, patience, forgiveness, and the importance of living a healthy life.

We want our students to engage in free play at recess as well as increase the number of students who participate in school wide team sports and activities. All of the soccer, basketballs, and volleyballs will be used at recess and for our sports teams. We also want a color printer so that we can celebrate our students successes through setting goals and providing students with certificates of celebration and success. We also know that we have students who prefer non-athletic sports so the cubes, chess mats, and stress activities will allow them opportunities to build their knowledge and skills.

All of these items will help our school to encourage and provide the means for our students to participate in activities and athletics. This will allow our students the means to have fun, learn new games, play, laugh and most importantly move to improve mind and body. This will get students excited and provide them the opportunity to work on and builds skills. This will assist in increasing the number of students who participate in our sports programs and improve their health in the process.
