Help me give my students amazing intervention supplies like the document camera and cart for the students who need explicit reading support the very most!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have noticed that the most painfully affected students from the COVID virtual learning were the ones in 1st Grade. They are now in 4th grade and this is our last chance to catch them and help them learn to read. It is essential to their future and I am the school reading interventionist who needs to catch these students and help them. I service K-4th Grade classrooms, going into all of them and working with the lowest skilled readers. The document camera helps them see what I am doing when breaking up a word into phonemes, the cart can help me move this from one classroom to another and the erasable pens help students break up multi- syllabic words in an exciting and personal way! Learning needs to be explicit, engaging, and personal and these gifts would help me create exactly that!
