Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are like M&Ms! Such a variety of colors and backgrounds. There are peanut M&Ms, almond M&Ms, and caramel M&Ms...and in all different colors! That's my students and their families. They all come with different backgrounds and different stories. But know what's the same? They are all sweet, loved, and aspiring learners.
My students are diverse, but we all come together and are united by the same goal...we become a family of learners here to support and uplift one another.
Some students in my room struggle academically due to all the outside factors they face. Some come with different abilities making learning even more challenging. And some come with all that they need and can want. Despite these differences, my students are kids with curious minds, playful hearts, and big dreams. I submit my proposals in an effort to encourage their efforts, to inspire their dreams, and to provide the tools to reach their goals.
My Project
Thanks to DonorsChoose, my classroom is set up with flexible seating. We have stability balls, a futon, wobble seats, and the such. We also have the wonderful Surf Floor Tables. The students love them! They use it during writing time mostly. The floor tables allow them to sit in secluded corners of the room to focus on writing.
The problem: the 10 tables we have do not stay stacked up and keep falling all over the room.
I was trying to live without this storage rack, and spend the funds I had on classroom basics. However, it has come to be...we need the storage rack. I've tried; I really have! This rack will keep the floor tables nicely organized and the students will be able to access them without a hassle.
