Racial Justice and Representation

Help me give my students puppets, books, and other resources for lessons on embracing diversity. Children are eager to understand and learn about the world around them. The tools listed in my project, will help me support their learning.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Teaching about racial justice and representation in kindergarten is both possible and essential.

Students in kindergarten are forming foundational ideas about identity, fairness, and community.

The resources being requested for my lessons/project will facilitate understanding of characters of different races, cultures, and family structures. As well as have conversations about fairness, kindness, and standing up for others.

Kindergartners understand fair vs. unfair and these resources will help me help them begin their understanding of racial justice and representation, normalize conversations about differences and appreciate how people look different and that's okay and good. All of us, collectively, and as individuals, have strengths we can contribute to our families, community, and our society.
