This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These books will enhance my diverse classroom library. My students love reading stories with diverse characters and bright and beautiful illustrations! There is nothing more exciting to them than relating to characters in the stories they are reading.
My students also love reading informational texts about racial justice. We have a hero wall with people like Barack Obama, Martin Luther King Jr, Sonia Sotomayer, and Mae Jemison in our classroom. They get so excited to learn more about our heroes and love asking for new heroes to be added! These books will allow them to learn about even more heroes.
