My Project

My Students

My first-grade students come from a beautiful community that sometimes feels marginalized by the larger county community.

Many of them come from low-income backgrounds and experience daily challenges that make learning life skills and social justice education even more critical. These young learners are at a crucial age for developing empathy, teamwork, and understanding fairness and equity. We can create a classroom environment that fosters growth, inclusivity, and social responsibility by providing them with the right tools and materials.

I am seeking funding to provide essential classroom supplies to help my students build vital life skills, including social-emotional learning, problem-solving, and an understanding of diversity, equity, and justice. These resources will allow my students to engage in hands-on learning and discussions that strengthen their ability to navigate real-world social situations and advocate for fairness and kindness.

Many of my students come to school hungry, making it difficult to focus and learn effectively. Healthy snacks will ensure they have the energy to engage in classroom activities fully. In addition, the books and dolls create an inclusive and enriching learning environment where all students, regardless of their background, feel valued and empowered. By learning about our emotions and how ALL people have them, we empower our students to understand fairness, advocate for themselves and others, and develop the confidence they need to impact their communities positively.

Regardless of size, every donation brings us one step closer to equipping our students with the skills they need to succeed in school and beyond. Thank you for supporting our classroom and making a difference in the lives of young learners!
