This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember recess, how much fun it was to play with your friends after a long morning of learning? Imagine how hard it would be to do this without the right equipment?

My special education students have learning and social challenges, including attention problems and difficulty sitting still during lessons.

They are mostly boys and are very active, energetic and enthusiastic. Many of my students live in apartment buildings with little opportunity to engage in physical activity outside of school.

My Project

Having new tricycles will improve the quality of our physical education program. We currently have only 4 very over-worked tricycles to share with over 150 preschool and kindergarten students. With new tricycles we can provide our students with the equipment they need to develop their gross motor skills.

Having new tricycles will help my students improve their gross motor skills and allow them to engage in fun, age appropriate physical fitness activities.

They will be able to burn off some of their energy, so they will be better able to focus during lessons and this will help them learn more and overcome their learning challenges.
