My Students
My special needs students are very busy first, second and third graders. They are beginning to learn basic academics. (reading, writing, spelling, and math) My students require a great deal of one on one attention with a focus on functional skills lessons which will help them develop to their fullest potential when they become independent adults.
My students have a variety of learning styles and need to be inspired.
It is important for my students to have an opportunity to discover things that are meaningful and relevant to life. It is important to instill the love for learning. Children are our future, and each one has the potential to bring something special to the world.
My Project
After the i-Ready diagnostic evaluation is taken, there is a unique automated online lesson plan generated for each student. iPads will be used by students to practice skills to bring them up to grade level. There are entertaining games working on specific concepts in the areas of reading and math. Math will cover number concepts, simple addition, place value, money, telling time, and number recognition. Reading will cover concepts such as rhyming words, comprehension, and phonics. i-Ready online lessons for High-Frequency words used most frequently will be taught through activities that ask them to see, say, write, spell and check each word.
