Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Race and cultural differences in sports are a reality in schools. Understanding the culture value and norms of a race leads to acceptance as well as understanding.

We have a unit that explores what a Native American boy experiences when playing baseball.

The novel, “Baseball in America”, would provide what a Hispanic boy experiences when playing baseball. Comparing the two different cultures, along with personal experiences, will help students understand, emphasize, relate, and possibly change his or her perspectives on other cultures.

Additionally, students will learn, discover, uncover, and apply literary elements through various activities.

We are a title one school with a high student population of both Hispanic and Native American cultures. Title one schools are experiencing budget cuts to an already underfunded budget.
