Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Addressing the behavioral and social emotional needs of students often requires the use of various resources including visual aids that communicate expectations and reinforce learning of SEL skills. This classroom project aims to support the health and SEL needs of students through supplies that enhance learning and keep us healthy.
A color printer, ink, laminator, and laminating sheets will provide me with the opportunity to enhance teaching and learning of social and emotional skills with durable/long lasting visually appealing supports such as visual schedules, feelings charts, cue cards, and token reinforcements systems, for our Dual Language (English/ Spanish) Learners in general and special education classroom settings.
These supplies will support in creating differentiated, engaging, and fun visual supports that promote independence, understanding of expectations and appropriate behaviors, participation in decision making, and emotional regulation skills. The mirror and affirmations cards promote self esteem and a positive mindset through self- reflection and motivating messages. The cleaning and disinfecting supplies such as Lysol and Clorox wipes will continue to support the health and well being of students by reducing the spread of germs that students touch and Puffs tissues can help students clean stuffy and runny noses.
