Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative and inquisitive by nature. My students come from low economic homes and struggles with academics.
Despite their challenges, they are hard working and eager to learn.
The 2020-2021 school year has presented them with unforeseen challenges. We are a Title I school, with minimal resources. I have a self-contained class across 3 grade levels. Each student needs a specific academic learning plan aligned to individual IEP goals. Due to these needs, a multitude of materials are necessary for student growth. Any addition to our classroom is greatly appreciated.
My Project
Students in my class are from diverse socio -economic backgrounds. It is often hard for their families to contribute for their child’s snack or even purchase necessary supplies for learning. This project will help students stay focused, while using visual learning modality. Students will not be distracted by their peer’s audio learning. At times students can become frustrated, and overwhelmed from multiple directions being given at one time. We use technology to address each students’ level, and monitor student growth. Having individual headphones, ensures students will only focus on the prompts indicated for them.
Using technology as an engaging tool helps them feel enthusiastic about learning.
