My Project
Our group of 21 Kindergartners is a very diverse group of learners. We are an Integrated Co-teaching class (ICT), meaning we are an integrated group of general education and special education students. As an ICT class we not only see the diversity of learning that you find in a regular classroom, but we are also working with learners who have even more individual needs. As we do have even more needs to meet, we have two teachers in the classroom. This allows us to make sure that all of our students get the individualized attention they need to thrive. The diversity of our classroom is never looked at as a challenge, but instead as an asset to our wonderful classroom family!
Diverse learners need diverse tools and we love supporting students with adaptive supplies to meet their needs.
We use wobble chairs, cushions, fidgets, standing tables and more. An addition to our existing tool kit of differentiation supplies we would love to have these adaptive seats for the rug and WhisperPhones! These will help our students work independently without distraction and sit safely with the group.
