This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most of my student live in a low socio economic environment. Many of them speak English as a second language. All of them love coming to school. We have a quiet time everyday after lunch when we play quiet music and give the kids a chance to relax. Some of them even fall asleep.

To allow friends who are sleeping to have a quiet environment, but also keep the others from being bored, I would love these quiet, table activities to keep my friends who are still awake, occupied, but quiet and calm.

I know they will love the magnetic dress up dolls. One set has a boy to dress up and the other has a girl. I also think they will love the life cycle puzzles as they build upon each other and the children can see, for example, the baby chicken inside the adult chicken. The magnetic maze is a lot of fun too as the children can practice matching capital and lower case letters and while using the wand to move the letter pieces, they are practicing how to hold a pencil.
