My students need a standing desk to be able to move around and still be able to focus at the same time.

Hello! Being a non-traditional special education teacher can be difficult to apply the techniques and tools I would love to provide for my students. I am an inclusion teacher so ninety-five percent of my time is spent working with my students in their general education classrooms. I tell my students that I am a traveling teacher most days. I do get to pull my kiddos into my classroom to go over content they do not understand. This provides more time and opportunity to learn concepts that they might have gotten left behind on.
With that said, I love being a special education teacher because I believe this population of students needs more resources.
I am able to work with a handful of students who really need my help and no two days look the same. I work in a Title One school so resources for creating a diverse approach to teaching special education is very limited.
My students learn differently but that does not mean they cannot learn at all. I believe in them and they are the reason I love being an educator!
Having a standing desk will give my students a choice in how they learn best. Many of my students cannot sit still and need to be moving constantly but unfortunately, do not always get the chance to stand and work. This will overall benefit my students and the learning environment that I have created for my students.
I work with students with ADHD, autism and learning disabilities and this requires differentiated instruction because of their vast learning styles.
These students receive support in their core content classes but I also work on social-emotional skills, anger management and organizational skills. My students rely on me and I would love to be able to give them something (with your help) that will enhance their learning experience.
