My Students

My school is filled with an extremely diverse population of students.
We are a part of a district that is comprised of 13 very unique communities and this building draws from every one of those communities. Students and parents enter into a contract to attend this building because they are signing on for an additional 15 school days and an additional hour of instruction on a daily basis. We are entering the third year as a pilot building within the school district and as such, we offer a number of intervention and enrichment opportunities that every student is involved in. These opportunities range from extra math help, reading interventions, dance classes, Shakespeare competitions and Spanish across all grades.
My Project
Cuts in education across Pennsylvania have left us without adequate funding to provide basic supplies for all of our classrooms. Many of our students receive free breakfast and participate in our free or reduced lunch program. While a small scientific calculator would be an easy purchase for many families, for our students the price is too high. These students are highly motivated to achieve and become future leaders in their community, they simply need the tools in order to get there. With the proper tools in their hands you can help motivate and mold these future leaders.
