Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Snacking allows students to quench their hunger and boost their focus. I allow students to eat in class when it becomes clear that their hunger is a distraction to their learning.
Food insecurities and lack of nutrients directly relates to inequity of socioeconomics.
Donations to my classroom will ensure all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to access a supplemental snack, which leads to a high-quality education.
Daily, students come up to me asking if I have any food. They can't concentrate, because they are hungry. I have been privy to receive donations that funded my classroom pantry before, but sadly it has run out. I would like to restock so that I am able to fulfill the requests of the students that come to me hungry. The snacks helps them get through the class period until they are able to make it to lunch.
