Our school is a transfer school that serves students who are under credited and over the average age for their grades. They are at high risk of not completing their high school educations. They have not been successful in traditional classrooms and need the chance to develop job skills. These students have great work ethics and are willing to put in the effort to succeed.
With your help, our students can expand our garden and help more students develop career skills before joining the workforce.
My Project
Our students have cultivated three large vegetable gardens around the school as well as an indoor greenhouse. Our students use this garden to learn skills they will need to be successful when entering the workforce. They are paid for their time and are growing into responsible and marketable young adults. This storage unit will help our students store the tools they use for these projects as well as house the materials used for their Career and Tech Education Courses. Currently eight inner city boys work in our garden and earn money for their family and skills for their future. This will allow use to hire more students, expand our garden and spread the learning experience.
