I teach 19 third graders at Kensington Elementary School in Georgetown, SC. Of those 19 students, one of them is an English as a Second Language student. There is a need in my classroom to give my students even more opportunities to practice proper reading fluency. Studies have shown that with improved reading fluency, reading comprehension will also improve. We have recently acquired some Quantum Pad Learning Systems to use in our classroom. These Learning Systems are being used in our class to help improve reading fluency and comprehension in my students. They are set up on a check-out system for the weekends so that my students may take them home and share reading with their families. At the moment, we only have 2 books to use with our Quantum Pad Learning Systems. In order for our Quantum Pads to show great reading improvements, we need to have a large variety of books available for my students to choose from. Therefore, I am asking for a donation of a set of books on a third grade level to use with our Quantum Pad Learning Systems. Thank you for your consideration in assisting me to strengthen the love of reading in my students.
