Help me give my students a set of quality of books to use for our literary analysis unit; the current ones have been used so long that they're missing covers, pages, or entire sections of the book.

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
It's only my second year of teaching, but "Refugee" has shown me how fast kids can fall into a good story. The book presents the story of three different teenage refugees who live decades apart from each other - from Nazi Germany, Castro's Cuba, and the Syrian civil war - and connects their stories in the end. It hits on emotional notes of sacrifice, maturing through hardships, and clinging tightly to family through it all. Both years I've done it, the students start the unit out with a groan that we "have to" read a 300-page book, and then end the unit genuinely attached to the characters and all-in on putting together quality projects around the story they've grown to love.
However, the past two years, my students have gotten a little TOO attached to the books, and they are, well...falling apart.
I got the books from the last teacher, and very few have covers left, most are being held together by tape, and the binding has entirely come apart for many. Much like the refugees in their pages, the books have been through a lot.
It's been beautiful to see my students learn to love literature through this book. Please consider funding this project so that future students can have that same fire lit inside of them. Right after I finish writing this request, I'm going to tack up this year's terrific "Refugee" projects to the wall. Some are "Scene Exploder Posters", where students chose one scene to bring to life in illustration, and then describe its thematic importance using quotes. Others are "Thematic Timelines," where students chose a theme and then charted its development throughout the book. But NONE of them would have been possible without quality, intact books to read from. Thank you for your consideration!
