My Project

When I do read aloud in my classroom I always prefer students to have a copy of the book to follow along with. This helps the students with fluency, accuracy, and comprehension. As I model reading fluently the students are able to see what in the text prompted speed and voice level changes and are able to then follow that example in their own reading. By having the books in their hands during the read aloud they are able to engage better with the book and with the reading.

It is imperative that students have access to quality literature.

This project will help provide that access to many students from low socio-economic homes and will allow them the opportunity to engage with books they might not find on their own. This will allow students to fall in love with reading.
