My Students

My students are energetic, enthusiastic, and engaged first graders. They are often described in public policy meetings as high-poverty, under-served, at-risk, and so on. To me, they are a delightfully diverse group of curious learners, willing and ready to explore their world.

My school has pledged to focus on STEAM as the basis for educating our curious little learners.

High quality technology integration is one of our aims. Students need access to learning videos that engage them and teach them topics in a memorable way.

My Project

When students are introduced to topics through engaging media, they hold onto their learning. The beats and lyrics of flocabulary really get into students' heads and keep the information alive. The engaging videos and gentle inquiry focus in Brainpop Jr videos give kids a solid foundation and give kids the opportunity to get more information upon rewatching.

Nearpod is a way to bring it all together with ways for students to respond to videos and new learning, to move along with me on their computers or to take the information at their own pace.

These quality digital media will help take students to the next level of understanding.
