Quail in the Classroom

My students need an incubator and hatching materials to gain a vital understanding of the life cycle process. Students will utilize cart materials to engage in the hatch.

My Students

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." ~Benjamin Franklin Involve, involvement, and involving all center around discovery. Students in our class room discover in detail the content. The class is creative chaos...always eager to learn and produce learning!

We are vital mix of ages, backgrounds, and learners all working to understand ourselves in the world of being an open learner.

Each learner is resilient, determined, yet compassionate and open to the ideas and opinions of others. Our group is close knit and supportive to each others ideas.

My Project

In the classroom, the process of becoming responsible monitors to life around us creates the need for a hands on project of life itself. Students will document, multiple times per day, the hatch cycle of the quail. They will study the process of life cycle and the study of sustainable populations, both local and world wide.

This project will create conservationists and students who realize the need for habitat awareness.

The students will understand both a detailed life cycle and the greater picture of human impact, both environmentally and world wide. The idea of human based sustainability of populations and management of wildlife will also be touched upon. The project itself will give groundwork to students interested in wildlife management as a potential career choice. Incubation is an exciting way to learn!
