Every day I drive a hour to work to help students from low socioeconomic backgrounds. I had great teachers who cared enough to help me be successful. I choose to do the same for my kids. They are learning how to make and decode QR codes. This technology helps with real world applications.
My students are the future.
They are smart and energetic. Technology is something that they are eager to work with since it is very limited at home. Our school is a Title 1 school located in Kentucky. We are also a Traditional School with great values. These kids are learning and doing great things.
My students need tablets to write and decode QR codes. These resources will change my students' lives because it will enable them to see how technology is used in real life situations. It will also allow them to see and download useful applications to help them in their everyday activities. They will use the tablets to decode QR codes based on the curriculum standards. It seems as if everything is moving toward QR codes and I want my student to be part of this movement. Students will learn how to decode and write QR codes. They will also do storyboards and learn how to write their own books.
My request for this project is very important because it gets my kids involved and learning how to use and love technology.
When I divide my students into groups, they use my tablet and smart phone to get their projects done. By not having the materials I need, it tends to slow down student progression. A project that could take an hour and a half is taking so much longer because all 24 students need the opportunity to use these materials. I've found that they learn better by doing.
