My Students

My students are creative, responsive, and full of questions! They attend an inner city, high poverty, multicultural school in Nebraska. 98% of my students receive free and reduce lunch.

My students are eager learners but don't always have the best supplies available to them.

Much of our learning takes place at school, therefore making the classroom a critical place for students to feel excited and comfortable. My goal as a teacher, no matter the students academic ability, is to have every student walk into my classroom excited to learn.

My Project

Once I learned of the QBall, I knew I immediately needed it in my classroom. As adults, we know how public speaking can be a challenge for many of us. In the classroom, we are constantly requiring students to explain their thinking. When students are given the opportunity, some freeze up and refuse to talk whereas others talk so quietly that no one can hear them. When students explain their thinking it engages them in deeper processing and comprehension.

The QBall will create a fun way for students to want to share and will help amplify their voice to be heard by all.

With the wired soundbar, we will be able to constantly have the QBall hooked up to the speaker so we are ready to use it at anytime. With your help, my students will be able to develop communication skills and boost their confidence while having fun.
