Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Problem solving and perseverance are two skills that I believe are vital for success in life. The challenge is that problem solving related to Math looks a lot different than problem solving in the "real-world". These physical puzzles will allow my students to develop their logical reasoning skills, problem solving strategies, and build their perseverance. Leading to higher achievement outcomes in my Math class as well as other aspects of their life.
Many of my students have struggled with Math in the past, are below grade-level expectations, and have a bad relationship with Math.
The goal of this project is to build their confidence in problem solving through a low risk activity, leading to higher confidence in themselves overall.
