My Students
Pre-K for All is a new program within the New York City Department of Education that provides all four year olds with full day quality education. Pre-K for All gives children stronger reading and math skills.
My site is a Pre-K Center exclusively dedicated to pre-k students.
We are located in Brooklyn and have a diverse population.
We have a center based learning model. The students learn by engaging in purposeful play while teachers engage the students in meaningful conversations.
In my program we like to provide lessons that are interactive so the children can learn by doing.
My Project
Puzzles are a great resource to have in a classroom. They challenge us to use many skills and provide many benefits.
Playing with puzzles can increase a child's cognitive skills on a specific topic such as letters, numbers or colors.
The process of completing a puzzle requires that a child use problem solving and reasoning skills. Fine Motor development and hand and eye development is also improved by the use of puzzles. Puzzles also promote social growth and boost self esteem. Puzzles are a fun educational toy with many benefits especially for those in the early childhood classrooms. Puzzles also provide great support to those students who are English Language Learners and those with special needs.
