When I found my young learners struggling mid-day, I started incorporating a mid-day "puzzle break", in order to provide the students with a much-needed mental and physical break. This has also been a pivotal time of day for students to practice social skills such as turn-taking, as well as developing language skills and building vocabulary. At this point, we have exhausted our puzzles and I'd love to jazz up our puzzle center with new puzzles, in order to keep students motivated and engaged. (A student told me today that puzzle time is her favorite school activity--that says a lot!)
