My Students
Welcome to the most diverse school in our county! From religious and soci-economic status to languages spoken at home, our K-8 school has built a reputation for being the place to come in North Metro Atlanta if your family wants a high quality public education as well as representation. With no significant racial or ethnic majority, we are truly a world apart from other schools. This year, our K-8 school has an enrollment of 763 students.

Their various lived experiences bring energy, passion, and creativity to our STEM-centered educational approach. Our community culture is one that celebrates individual gifts, a common belief in quality education, and the shared vision of a world where each person uplifts the next to mutual success. To this end, we strive to meet every student where they are in their educational journeys.
My Project
With virtual weeks still popping up throughout the year, my students have a need of engaging online activities centered on the 5th Grade Standards of Excellence for Georgia. We have found wonderful root word and affix puzzles, main idea and detail games, readers theater plays, and parts of speech digital escape rooms on Teachers Pay Teachers. These intriguing activities will boost engagement when students are virtual and competing demands such as video games abound. These activities are equally valuable for students who are in the classroom on days when I might be out on quarantine. Fun, educational, and standards-based, all students would benefit from these purchases.
