My Students

My Fabulous First Graders are a wonderful group of COURAGEOUS kiddos! We are a Title I school, which means that many of our students are at or below the poverty line. But my sweet kiddos have inquiring and creative minds that come excited to learn. They are truly the kindest, sweetest, and most thoughtful group of kiddos you will ever meet!

Critical thinking and visual-spatial awareness are important skills for children to develop.

I want to continue to have my students striving for academic excellence so now more than ever, focus on engagement is key. My Fabulous First Graders' faces light up when they explore new learning and I need to keep them engaged!

Although the Early Development Index has shown that students in La Habra come to school less prepared than anywhere else in the county, my fabulous first graders come to school ready to learn every single day!

My Project

This special project is just full of puzzles! Puzzles are a wonderful for an early learning environment. They promote lots of different learning! Learning from puzzles includes math, such as shape and color recognition, fine motor skills & visual-spatial reasoning (when picking up and placing pieces where they go) as well as cooperative play. It is so important when children play and work with others towards a common goal! Indeed, puzzles are one of the most important resources to have in an early learning classroom.

These puzzles will provide my kiddos with fun challenges and opportunities to problem solve, communicate and use their reasoning skills.

Critical thinking and spatial awareness are such key skills for children to develop...and puzzles are the perfect way for young students to develop these skills! These skills will help them with reasoning, mental speed and improvement with short term memory. These Floor Puzzles and Magna-Tiles will allow my students to work together as a team while develop critical thinking and social skills.
