My students need puzzles and other manipulatives, such as blocks, to increase visual performance and problem solving skills.

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Help us learn to problem solve and increase our thinking skills.
The students in my classroom are preschoolers who present as being on the autism spectrum.
This is my second year with them and they have all demonstrated strong growth in all areas of development. Many of them are reading and solving simple number operations such as single digit addition. They have also become much more independent and are completing many skills by themselves. They are a wonderful group of highly energetic students who are always seeking out new learning experiences.
My Project
I am requesting puzzles to help increase problem solving skills. I have several single-inset puzzles and some jigsaw puzzles but the class lacks 'in-between' puzzles. The majority of the materials I am requesting are puzzles with pieces touching to bridge the gap in problem solving. Most of my students can easily complete the easier puzzles but are unable to complete jigsaw puzzles as we do not have the proper materials to bridge the gap. I am also requesting alphabet sorting cans to increase both literacy and pretend play skills. Finally, the magnetic builders will help increase many skills such as sharing, critical thinking and problem solving.
The students I work with at are a critical age of development.
They need as many resources as possible to help put them on the path of life-long learning. I truly believe my students will go on to do great things in their lives and it is because they were given good opportunities early in life. The donations you provide will help them achieve to the apex of their potential.
