The students in my classroom are three to five-year-old boys and girls in a preschool setting. We are a fully inclusive classroom with children from a variety of backgrounds and differing abilities. The students come for either a half-day session (morning or afternoon) or have the option of attending for a full day as well.
Albert Einstein said, "Play is the highest form of research." The goal of our preschool program is for children to receive a well-rounded, developmentally appropriate education.
We believe that children at this age learn so much while they are exploring and learning with hands-on, multi-sensory materials.
My Project
Since we have students from three to five years old, their abilities vary greatly. I would like to get some new puzzles to put in different centers throughout the classroom. These puzzles will encourage the children to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, problem-solving, memory, shape recognition, language, etc. Puzzles target so many important areas of development for this age group.
The puzzles that I have selected cover a wide range of educational topics; animals, shapes, numbers, and simple games (tic-tac-toe).
I know the students will have a blast learning while working together with their peers. These high-quality puzzles will last for years to come!
