Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My first grade class this year is made of students who had no kindergarten experience due to the pandemic. They came into my classroom very low academically, no letter recognition or sounds, writing has been extremely hard for them. The students are often out due to Covid in their families. but that being said they love being here at school and are learning at a fast pace.

My Project

I would love to have puzzles in my classroom for the students to use during our creative and free choice expression time. The puzzle storage kit would be an added bonus so the students would have a special area to keep the puzzles. The different block people would go with our block area where the students build with cars, animals, and now the block people. I believe children in first grade need the time to be creative and play together and learn how to get along with each other. These items help with that.
