Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students range from Pre-K through 5th grade and they all have Individualized Education Programs. The majority of my students live in lower-income housing, projects, or shelters in the South Bronx, NY. My students are very curious and eager to learn!
The floor puzzles, board games, building STEAM educational toys, and the magnetic drawing board will help my special education students strengthen their fine motor and cognitive skills, which are foundational skills for engaging in school-related activities.
The PicassoTiles will be used for building and problem-solving.
My desire is for the students to use items such as the Alphabet Robot Toys during occupational therapy sessions. They will allow my students to engage in creative play to support their learning and make progress toward their individualized education program (IEP) goals.
