This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The puzzles in my classroom have been utilized often, and my students have become masters at solving them. We now set a timer to see how fast they can do them. I would like to challenge my kids with more difficult puzzles. How are they difficult? They have more pieces in different shapes and the time required to complete them will be much greater... time we do not always have. Tada! This means they will need to work together. These puzzles and games will be used in my classroom to promote teamwork and persistence. The puzzles have over 100 pieces and they are unique shapes compared to the typical puzzles seen. Also, the borders are not rectangular. They are the shapes of the creatures and characters. What FUN!
Puzzles and games help to promote persistence, teamwork and time management; Games will promote counting, adding and subtracting, strategizing, and fun!
The games I am requesting are those that will build their number skills, teach strategy, creativity and reading. Base ten blocks will help them learn to count to 1000. Card games teach cognitive and creative skills. And Kerplunk teaches skills with observation and fine motor development. These games and puzzles will broaden my students' learning in our classroom and provide them with skills to be creative thinkers now and in the future.
