My Project
Someone once said that "While random activity provides delight for preschoolers, focused task oriented accomplishment builds character and closure."
All of life is a puzzle and it would be wonderful to have new puzzles for my Pre-Kindergarten classroom.
I am dedicated to making improvements within our classroom on a daily basis. My goal is to have puzzles in class that will build logical thinking skills and improve their spatial awareness. Puzzles provide lots of fun while building critical thinking. The children I teach are all between the ages of three and five.
I have noticed that many children who come into Pre-K have not worked on puzzles before. Children need to learn how to put puzzles together because it helps their problem solving skills, stimulates the brain, and develops fine motor skills. It also helps with hand-eye coordination, increases shape awareness, and improves spatial awareness. It also helps them with skills such as cutting, coloring, and handwriting. The puzzles will also give the children an opportunity to make independent choices and complete their self-selected task. Puzzles can be tricky for children, but it is wonderful to see a young child keep working at it until they have it figured out. I love to see the look on the face of a young child trying to make all the pieces fit just right. The look of accomplishment on a child's face after completing a puzzle is priceless.
I am requesting puzzles in order to help the children learn essential academics that will really help strengthen necessary early childhood skills.
Thank you for taking the time to read my proposal.
