My Students
While they have many differences, my students still have a lot of things in common. They are kids who like to have fun and want to succeed and make a difference in their world. My students have shown great potential, and I cannot wait to see what they will do as they use their education to impact people around them.
My students are writers, scientists, engineers, artists, politicians, teachers, and much, much more.
They will be fathers, mothers, aunts, uncles, and grandparents who will reach into the lives of future generations and make a change that will alter the destinies of thousands, if not millions.
My Project
Our class is unique in the middle school world as we work to learn photography, videography, graphic design, and creating publications. One task we have taken on is daily recording the announcements for the school. We take this task seriously and seek to make them professionally using green screen technology and continually coming up with creative introductions and before-we-go stories.
Eye contact is crucial to genuine communication with our audience.
We started using web-based prompters that allowed students to read from their computer screens. This always caused students to look slightly away from the camera. A physical teleprompter will let students read and look directly into the camera, building the student's confidence and the audience's understanding.
A video monitor will allow the students to see what they look like, including facial expressions and posture. These aspects are very important in communicating with our audience. They can learn how their appearance can add or take away from their words.
