Help me give my students a library full of books they want to read! Many of my students do not have access to books at home so I want to give them a chance to love reading!
My students are the most resilient kiddos I know. They all come from struggling home situations, yet they do not let it define them. Many of mine do not have access to food, let alone books that they are actually interested in. My goal is to give them a classroom library that they feel eager to visit and give reading a chance to take them places and change their lives. Not only will it be good for their learning, but books can also teach them SEL skills that they can't learn in a PowerPoint or a lecture. Reading allows them to discover things on their own and makes a longer-lasting impact on their lives. Please help me give them the world through their books. You are helping me give these kiddos a fighting chance!
