Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have incredible knowledge about various forms of media and technology, What I want to work on is their ability to use critical thinking while they socialize and connect in an educational setting.

I am requesting funding for a set of interactive, strategic games that will help support my students' excitement for social studies, learning, and social development.

As an educator, I have found that board games are an excellent way to promote critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in students.

My proposal is for a set of board games that can be used in the classroom as a part of a lesson plan on the Progressive era. These games are designed to be both educational and entertaining, providing students with a fun and engaging way to learn and interact with one another.

The board games I am requesting include:

Settlers of Catan - This game promotes strategy, resource management, and negotiation skills.

Monopoly- This game will accompany a unit on the Gilded age/Progressive era

By incorporating these games into my classroom, I believe that my students will not only practice valuable skills but also develop stronger social connections with their peers. I have seen firsthand how board games can bring students together and create a positive classroom culture.
