Help me give my students the ability to actualize their dreams and full potential, out of their adversity, to build a better future for themselves and community with Wacom - Intuos Wireless Graphic Tablets.

Albert Einstein is quoted saying, “Adversity introduces a man to himself.”
There is no greater impact to be made than for students facing daily adversity to realize their unseen potential.
My scholars come from homes that are still damaged after Hurricane Harvey and flooding a year after, families broken by immigration and facing poverty, and loved ones lost by community violence. Yet, they come to school and push through, and as they break -their hearts broken and minds swelling of anger- I find them and meet them with art. My middle school scholars have created pieces of art that stand paramount in the community -murals at school and afar that call on the reminder that troubled times are not seen without beauty and victory. They have competed nationally with others and received excellence recognition in scholarships like the Houston Livestock and Rodeo. They are the next wave of STEAM (Science, Technology, Art, and Mathematic) scholars prepared to bring the change needed in our world.
Adversity has found them, but among the process of growing mentally and physically, they are finding themselves.
Every student is an artist -and those who have guidance and apply themselves become some of the brightest minds in their generation. I could quote the artists Leonardo Da Vinci, who created the parachute, helicopter, and concentrated solar power, or Frank Lloyd Wright who successfully designed and led the architectural team who created 553 buildings (many noted as significant and impactful in the Modern Era.) But that would undermine the path that many others take.
We seldom think to the 3-D artists who are designing and printing heart tissues and valves, or the Hayao Miyazakis of the world, who built an animation empire worth over one billion (Studio Ghibli), and are dismissed as daydreaming doodlers.
Enrichment programs like art have made significant leeway for the future, and it is this path that I am trying to take my students. I am the Magnet Art Teacher at my school who is developing a Digital Art and Animation program. Both, able to proceed into paths with STEM and STEAM to build a better future. These tablets will allow us to develop portfolios in every aspect possible in the digital world, by cutting down the cost significantly over the years for supplies.
