Putting the A (Art) Back in STEAM and Social Studies
Help me give my students art supplies, so we can draw, paint, and sculpt our way to understanding the world around us!

My Students
A class that truly represents Brooklyn, my students are from a mix of cultures. Not only that, but my families chose to enroll their children in a dual language program. They are all committed to being bilingual and bi-literate in Spanish and English (some of the speak other languages as well).
My students are enthusiastic, curious, and caring, truly delightful!
They check in with each other and treat each other with respect. Each day, they come to school ready to learn.
My Project
There is nothing like drawing it, painting it, or building it to bring home an idea, especially in Science and Social Studies. This year, we created beautiful drawings of animals camouflaged in their habitats, built the Great Wall of China out of clay, and used watercolors and oil pastels to create habitats for our Science Fair Project. All children understand better when they can create, but our dual language class is packed full with students learning a new language (either English or Spanish) who really thrive on hands-on experiences. Sadly, our art supplies are getting old and running out and we want more for next year!
Help us to bring art supplies to our classroom, so we can draw, paint, and sculpt to bring Science and Social Studies alive.
