Putting Pins in Our Learning

My students need cork tiles to create bulletin boards in their classroom and hallway to display their work, vocabulary words, pictures, and other materials to support their learning.

My Students

My PreK3 students are some of the most amazing children I have ever met. They live in one of the most dangerous communities in our nation's capital. Every day they walk down a hill to school where they are able to escape the violence that riddles their neighborhood. They attend a Title I school where 100% of the population receives free lunch. Despite all of the challenges that face outside the school walls, they still come to school each day ready and excited to learn.

My Project

Sadly, my students do not have one bulletin board in their classroom to display their work, see their vocabulary words, or share photos of the great work that they are doing. Having these cork tiles will allow for me to make bulletin boards in all 6 of their centers as well as a bulletin board for parents to see important information and their students' work.

Being able to make these bulletin boards will allow important vocabulary words and pictures to be posted in each of their centers.

This will help with the critical language development of students. It will also allow for their work to be posted in centers to remind students of what they can do in the center as well as take pride in the work that they complete.

Having a parent bulletin board will allow parents to see the great work that their students are doing. It will also serve as a place for me to place important information for them including important dates and phone numbers.
