My Project
I teach amazing students who are capable of amazing things. Unfortunately, a number of them come from impoverished backgrounds. Furthermore, my district is expecting large budget cuts to both supplies and staff, making it unlikely that the things I am asking for will be available any time soon.
Students need basic supplies to succeed.
I am asking for a class set of materials that will help my students to engage and participate in the classroom, basics such as paper, pencils, and rulers. Giving students the materials they need to be successful helps to level the playing field for all students and help them feel comfortable. Furthermore, since I teach in a deskless classroom, having the seatback storage makes it possible for students to store their materials safely, without fear of losing things or having them get lost on the floor. My goal is to have all students start from a place of success.
