My Students
I work at a K-8 Title I school located in the heart of Harlem. Our vibrant neighborhood is filled with a rich history. At our school, most students receive free or reduced rate lunch. Although not rich in resources, my students are the most amazing, passionate, curious thinkers, builders, and explorers. They are learning and growing every day. They enjoy learning, and have a desire to learn, even from home! They motivate me and enrich my passion for teaching. In an effort to close the achievement gap, I would like to obtain resources to enhance learning opportunities whether we are in school or at home.
My Project
Read, Read, Read, and read some more! The goal is to have students in the upcoming 2021-2022 school year do LOTS of reading. I would like to expose students to different kinds of books, both fiction and nonfiction.
The goal of this project is to put paper books back into the hands of students.
Over the last year and a half during the pandemic, students have been learning remotely from home with limited resources. I want to ensure my students have the tools for success and enrich their love and interest for reading books.
