My Students
My class is composed of 17 adorable, creative children. I am so blessed to see their inquisitive little minds at work daily. Our classroom is full of energy & innovation. I hope to give each and every one of my students a loving, safe environment to learn!
I teach 2nd grade at a Title I school in Texas, where we are still recovering for the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey.
These students lived through a rough 1st grade year due to the Hurricane in 2017. However, my students are resilient & eager to learn. Many of these children lost everything in the storm, are still displaced, & unfortunately lacking basic necessities, but they show up every morning trying their best to smile. My students are survivors & they deserve the best.
My Project
Integrating technology into students' daily lives is essential to improving their education. My lessons incorporate technology regularly, but my classroom lacks the necessary supplies for students to truly benefit from the experiences. The six Amazon Fire tablets could help build literacy through various online resources aimed at helping my 2nd graders. As of now, my 17 students take turns using the one student computer in my classroom. In today's society, technology is used in almost every aspect of our daily lives. My students need to learn to incorporate technology into their education at an early age.
By having access to technology at the touch of a button, my students can transform basic ELAR instructional time into lessons that can last a lifetime.
With access to technology, I can also analyze their strengths and weaknesses immediately and adjust my lessons accordingly. This will be helpful for any student who struggles with concepts throughout the year.
