My Students

My students are in need of experiencing the wonders of technology.

I teach in a low income neighborhood in NYC.

I am a special educator teaching in a co-teaching classroom. My students need to have access to technology; the majority of my students do not have a computer at home. They have yet to experience the wonders of what can be taught to them.

My Project

Putting an iPad into the hands of a second grader will change the way they see the World. It will enable some of my students with special needs to learn in a way they have never imagined was possible. My students would use the iPad across the curriculum. Having an iPad will enable me to monitor their progress in real time, and I'll be able to use that data to shape my lessons.

Having an iPad in my classroom will instill in my children the idea that anything is possible and their is no limit to their learning.

It will give some students an opportunity to learn in a way that would not have been an option for them, if not for having an iPad available for them.
