Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have wonderful students who want to learn and thrive in a hands-on environment. The majority of my students come from low-income families and have troubled home lives. They love coming to my class and I love sharing science and medicine with them to get them excited about the possibility of a future. Many of my students will continue to pursue careers in the medical field with great success.

I am blessed to teach such motivated and talented young people who are the future of medicine.

I look forward to watching them grow and learn each and every day.

My Project

Students will be learning about the entire human body in my PLTW Human Body Systems class. This project will allow students to further study how our muscles work and what they look like. I am asking for Ward's ATP muscle kit. This kit allows students to perform several demonstrations, including identification of muscle microanatomy, stimulation of muscle contraction with ATP solution, and correlation of chemicals to the degree of muscle contraction.

Giving students the opportunity to perform lab activities to investigate the function of muscles will provide them with lifelong learning memories.
