Pushing Buttons: Igniting Curiosity & Crafting Science Success!

Help me give my students a button maker for our classroom! It can promote positive behavior, motivate learning, expression of creativity, reinforcement of science concepts AND a great fundraising tool for our field trips!

My Project

With your help in purchasing a button maker, I have the opportunity to enhance student motivation and learning by promoting creativity and a sense of community. Students designing buttons related to science concepts encourages creativity and engagement fostering a deeper understanding and connection to the subject. Button making reinforces learning through tactile activities and practical skills like design, measurement and following directions. Through our PBIS initiative, students will have the chance to create fun and personalized buttons as a positive reward choice in our classroom. AND Buttons can be used in all sorts of community building within our school for team identification, celebrating achievements, promoting science and sporting events, creating a sense of community and pride!

Incorporating a button maker in my classroom enhances engagement in science and creativity, promotes STEM skills, builds community and school pride, and creates a long-term impact.

I want to increase student engagement in science through hands-on, creative activities. I want students to develop skills in design, creativity, and in the practical application of scientific concepts. School pride gets lost in middle school and so I want to help foster a sense of community within the classroom and school by creating and sharing buttons. We have many sports at our school, and it would be awesome to sell these buttons at lunch to promote team spirit! Lastly, I want to provide memorable and enjoyable learning experiences by having students create their own buttons!

Seventh graders are the hardest group of students you’ll work with but I find joy in watching them grow, learn, be creative, resilient and work hard in becoming amazing humans.
