My Project
In Kindergarten, students are constantly learning through play and the world around them. It's a year of enormous intellectual leaps and bounds. What better way to foster this desire for play than to make it purposeful and meaningful?
Intellectuals such as Maria Montessori, Rudolf Steiner, and Reggio Emilia focus on having student centered learning in which kids practice purposeful play to develop their intellects in a holistic way.
The materials we are asking for are inspired by these intellectuals and will aid our Kindergarten students in being independent, thoughtful learners. Research has shown that sandpaper letters can allow students to learn the entire alphabet in as little as a month! Concrete bead racks allow students to develop number sense early and truly understand math. These materials will shape our independent time in our classroom to allow students to reach heights not seen before!
