This is my 13th year of teaching in Oklahoma. I have taught in 2 different districts, 3 different schools, and 2 different grade levels. My favorite age to teach is 4 turning 5. I am currently teaching Pre-Kindergarten students at a title 1 school. Title I provides federal funding to schools to help students who may face socio-economic challenges. Title I is allocated to schools based on the percentage of students receiving free/reduced lunch.
My current students are so special and unique.
I have students who are on IEPs, attend before & after school care, do not celebrate certain Holidays, are sensory sensitive, require headphones at times, have trouble verbally communicating etc. Regardless of the diverse needs in my class, my students treat each other with kindness, respect and love. They all understand that we are a class family. I am so proud of each and every one of my students!
The items I am requesting will impact not only my current students, but future students as well. Children learn through play and I am needing new centers, areas for my students to play and explore with. A play-doh/Lego table will help with fine motor skills and social skills as it will be more intimate with less students.
Half of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
