Puppy Love and an Act of Kindness!

Help me give my students pet supplies to kick off our Puppy Love Valentine’s Day community service project!

My Project

Thinking of others and helping out when we can is a mindset that is an important component to being a good citizen. I want to incorporate this matter of the heart into our first grade classroom!

My first graders are so full of love and energy, let’s put that to good use!

We live in a small town where the stray animals are plentiful. For Valentines Day, instead of the typical chocolates and flowers, I want to give my students an opportunity to give back in a selfless and meaningful way! This project will spearhead a community service project that helps out our local animal rescue shelter and instills the spirit of selflessness and compassion in my students. We will host a pet supply drive ahead of Valentines Day (and Random Act of Kindness Day). Students will write letters and work to collect supplies to donate to our local animal shelter with no expectation of anything in return - the true meaning of giving. This project will help get us started with a strong foundation of animal food and supplies to gift to the shelter. Together, we will build a community of young, compassionate citizens who are committed to helping our (furry) friends in need!
